Legal Experience

I enjoyed practicing law and did so for over 20 years, most of which was spent at the firm Hedger and Hedger, a boutique transactional law firm. There I handled business transactions that ranged from an initial public offering to regular representation of a publicly-traded company. Prior to entering private practice I earned my LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.

A significant part of my practice was in employee benefits including retirement plan design and operation. My expertise from practice has fueled my current research enabling me to become knowledgeable in 401(k) vesting schedules and forfeitures, employee benefits transparency, and gig work. In practice, most of my clients were small to medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs, including start-ups. I assisted them with matters involving tax, contracts (domestic and international), mergers/acquisitions, employee classification issues, and raising capital (private and public).

I additionally am a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
